Sheesh - I look so MEAN in this gallery - and I know why. This gallery was one of two that D.J. took at the old Gwenmedia warehouse for Bootlovers #39. It was crazy that day. I was going on no sleep (as usual), and we were short on galleries for that issue - so I had to 'pose' for two. D.J. picked me up at dawn for the two hour drive into L.A., and it was 100 degrees outside. I did my make-up in the car.
We had no inspiration whatsoever - the 'set' we were given was a white room with a little chair that could barely support a child without tipping over. All of the wardrobe was my own, except for the special boots - the boots are prime vintage 1970's Atomage custom crotch-highs that smell like old leather and tobacco. Completely lined and so comfortable I could gleefully spend the rest of my life in them.
The gloves were 'new' - gifted to me by a friend (Hi Stephen!) - and they still had that wonderful 'new glove' smell.
The wardrobe became it's own inspiration for this gallery. It's one of my favorites. I was exhausted, hot, and pissed off - and threw all of that energy into this shoot.
