Oh GD it.
It's something the majority of you (read: men) don't understand - and I envy you for it.You see a pretty woman in boots and the majority of you are HELL YEAH!!! It could be Paris Hilton, a teenage actress, whatever - you see the boots (or gloves) and you're in your happy place.
(The video does not allow embedding - you can see it HERE).
Me? You already know that I'm a bitch-snob regarding aesthetics (I. LOATHE. CHEAP. BOOTS.), and my tolerance for celebutards is non-existent. Posting pics of girls under 18 - even if 16 is the legal age of consent in many parts of the world - is a no-go because 'sexualizing' someone who cannot legally order a drink in a bar eeks me out.
A woman like Danica Patrick brings out a WHOLE other thing.
While I am (truly) delighted to see any woman - yes, even someone like Paris - wear kink boots on national television, sometimes I feel dread knowing I have to promote them because of it. Because what they are - and what they represent - pisses me off so much I'd like to place my own booted foot firmly - and with malice - very far up their aerobicized asses.
Because a boot wearing woman like Danica Patrick could be an amazing role model for girls. Your daughters, step-daughters, granddaughters, nieces, kid sisters, etc. It has nothing to do with 'sex appeal'. Most of you agree that a woman can look crazy attractive - and 'classy' - in a nice dress and designer leather boots.
Patrick could have been that role model. Instead, she signed on with the idiots known as 'GoDaddy' (HORRID web hosts), whose SuperBowl commercials made the most unapologetic sexist of my male friends go, "Holy fuck that's sexist." She's a regular in Maxim, FHM, and Sports Illustrated.
We do not see any of the male Indy drivers draped over their vehicles in thongs.
So she pisses me off. Maybe she's an exhibitionist who gets off on the thought of men fapping to her pics. I'd respect her if she'd ADMIT it.
I resent her for not taking the high road. I resent her A LOT.
