Bootlovers.com #72: Early Preview - Mistress Tokyo in Vintage Berger Thigh High Lace Up Boots.
DJ and I are still finalizing the line-up for Bootlovers.com #72; but I couldn't resist giving you a sneak peek of Mistress Tokyo's Gallery. Hardcore bootlovers will recognize the Herr Berger Thigh High Lace Up Boots from an early issue of Boot Lover's Digest Magazine. These boots have not been photographed in almost TWO DECADES!

Not only are these boots one of a kind - when I saw the pictures in that early issue of Boot Lover's Digest, I had a pair made, based on the Berger design - by The Little Shoe Box in the mid 1990's...
...which The Little Shoe Box screwed up - as you can see from the decorative design on the top of the boots. Actually - the first mistake was forgetting to do the top trim entirely. DJ took the boots back to London in 2001 to have the top trim added - which they screwed up again!
(I swear - sometimes I don't know what is worse - having no LSB at all, or stressing out like crazy because they kept fucking up the boots I ordered.)
The Little Shoe Box took that design - without asking - and ran with it. All the those 'scroll' boots that came out of LSB in the 1990's? Gino ripped off the Berger style, and did not credit the source (which pissed me off to no end - mainly because I'm to blame for it). The irony is now that LSB is gone, the boot design is back to being a collector's item.
Bootlovers.com #72 will give you a huge (80+) high res gallery, plus amazing video, plus an editorial on the original Berger Boots that started it all!
