Boot Fashion: Swanny in Dennis Diem Crotch High Boots. Schön! #15, Fall 2011.
This image has been floating around the fashion sites for a couple of weeks - but I hesitated to post it because of the usual howls of outrage from the 'Stiletto Heeled Boots or GTFO' brigade.
While outrageously high heel boots are also my own personal favorite, I allow what the masses want to dictate what gets posted to Booted Up. I rarely post 'street boots', riding boots, or even ballet boots, because the majority of Booted Up fans are rather set in their ways, fetish-wise.
This is going to change in 2012, because it has to.
The 2011/12 season for kinky fashion boots was rather dreadfull; and based on early previews and fashion gossip - the F/W 2012/13 will SUCK for fetish-style boots.
Fashion runs on cycles that make no sense to sane people. Gloves are somewhat immune to this craziness, but footwear is Ground Zero in the fashion wars. Every designer wants women to buy new shoes/boots every season - and that only happens when designs are radically different from the previous season. Since extreme footwear, goth, and fetish have been 'in' for the past 2.5 years, the fashion industry will now swing the pendulum and do anything but those things.
So we'll wait a year or two, and kinky boots will be the next 'new thing'. They've been doing this nonsense for almost 3 decades now. It will happen.
In the meantime, my resources may be drained. It means more 'street style' boots, and older fashion editorials. If things get really dire, I promise to throw in a gorgeous Bootlovers.com image here and there.
But be patient, the fashion industry will come around the bend once more, and claim that kinky boots are the new IT thing (again).
