Please keep Sam in your thoughts.

If you've watched my cam sometime over the past 7 years, you've probably seen a ridiculously fat and fuzzy black cat stumble through, and occasionally hang out under my chair.

Ask Teri 4/12/08

(Three dozen emails written by mostly young(ish) men).

A version of: "I see/know women who wear boots and I WANT/NEED A GIRLFRIEND WHO WEARS BOOTS!"

Look - if I had a secret formula - a hex of some sort - I'd put it in a box and have an infomercial. And I'd have a helicopter-only access home somewhere in Sri Lanka. With guards that looked like Clive Owen.

Teri041208

I can lecture like a blow-hard until I'm old and wrinkled: All because a woman enjoys wearing boots does not mean she enjoys being stared at because of it. I know, I know - the majority of you are going, "Wha?? NO F-ING WAY!"

I'll throw a bit of kerosene on the flame - most times *I* don't like being stared at because I'm wearing boots! Sometimes, I resent it - because it takes me out of my own head trip, and forces me to be aware of the outside world.

Responses to the "Oooo...Someone has balls"...

Hal

The day after I posted that 'rant', my computer decided to pull a HAL and consume my life for several days. Since this blog is moderated - meaning I have to 'approve' posts (it keeps the porn spam away) - the responses from readers are finally online. I am only now beginning to read and respond.

Hey! Two boot women that we respect and adore posted! Thank you BootChick and Angie!

(Apparently Typepad has a 'cut-off' point for posts - imagine that! Consider this a continuation from the previous diatribe.)

(Jim asks: hi Mistress i live near phila,pa and i beg you to please come here and kidnap me and enslave me then use me 24/7 as your slave slut, maid and toilet and yes please use and abuse me in all videoes. i am serious with a real request so please send me your thoughts sincerely slave jim)

My name isn't 'Mistress'. Your punctuation and grammar would make my third grade teacher weep with frustration. Perhaps if you wrote a sincere letter about yourself, devoted to an individual woman, and made it a point to remember her name, you would receive a response that consisted of more than, "It's $250 an hour.". Just a suggestion. Do not email me again.

(Abhinav writes: I am a boy from India and love women in boots or gloves.I think you are an amzing woman and are the supreme godess of boot wearers in the world.Youre body is perfect for all types of boots.I dream about lickin and sucking a womans toes, boots and heels but I amonly 14 years old. What should I do??)

Oh...goddammit. I don't know if I should be flattered, or if I should be looking over my shoulder for the 'Catch A Predator' crew.

OK, people - how would YOU deal with an email like this? And it is not unusual - I receive something like this...pretty much every few weeks. From a really young (read: underage) man, asking for advice. Most times they live in some far-off part of the world like India, or Peru, or Gaybash, South Dakota. And they break my heart. It was hard for me, growing up in a small, conservative town - I can only imagine what it's like for a teen living in a culture that rejects sexuality, and that punishes women for being anything but submissive to tradition.

The internet is both a blessing and a curse for fetishism - because can you miss what you are not exposed to? I don't know the answer to that.

And I'm female. No matter where any of you boys grew up - the fact that I'm a girl makes everything different. I didn't think about 'worshipping' boots - I thought about wearing them.

Fetishism is different for women. We are the ones who are coveted, and once a girl puts on her first pair of heels and walks in public - she becomes very aware of the...coveting. All of a sudden, her personal fetish seems to belong to everyone.

If women were as closeted about their fetishism as the majority of you boys are - you'd be a miserable bunch. And the internet would make $10 a day.

I want you to put your thinking caps on - and write a bit of sincere advice for this young man. I am sending him the link to this post. The majority of you are far more qualified to answer him than I will ever be.

Ask Teri I

Teriredcrocsmain_3

Mood:  Energetic  Energetic!

Listening to: Iron Maiden "Brighter Than A Thousand Suns"

(Countless people have asked...Where can I buy those red croc boots?)

I hate to tell you, but you can't. *I* didn't even order them.

Around November of 2002, DJ went on one of his customary trips to London for DDI business, and I gave him a list of two pairs of custom boots I wanted made at The Little Shoe Box. One pair was a crotch-high, 1/2 zip, forest green gloss leather boots with 8" heels and a 2" platform; the other was a pair of black patent leather, lace-ups, 7" blue heels with a 1" blue platform with blue laces, if it could be done. Both had to be lined.

I didn't get those boots. Still haven't. We'll discuss the knee-highs in a future post.

DJ visited LSB and checked out the 'forest green leather' - he wasn't impressed with the quality - so he went on a leather hunt. And while going through their storage space, he found a small roll of this 'red croc' leather and fell in love with it. Gino told him that the piece of leather was a one-off - there was no more of it available, ever. There was only enough left for two pairs of boots to be made.

Now DJ has a knee-high pair sitting in his warehouse right now - and I have the pair you are looking at. The leather is no longer available, and LSB is gone - so these are one-of-a-kind boots.

If you want to see more pics of them - it's actually a two-for-one deal, because one of the galleries is in our 'Interactive' section. Bootlovers #28 has the gallery featuring the above image, and since that gives you access to the Interactive section - just go to my Cam Gallery and scroll down. There's a link to another gallery featuring large size images of them.

Yes, I am bringing them to the next CA visit for a new photoshoot.

(Cliff asks: Can you tell me what experiences you've had with vendors? If you were going to buy good quality pair of leather thigh high boots with a 4 or 5 inch heel who would you buy from?)

I'd look on Ebay before hitting any of the vendors. You know I adore BobandAngie.

If I were going to buy a pair of 'basic' calf or patent leather thigh-highs with no platforms from a vendor? I'd go to Michelle at Afterdark Fashions in Australia. Michelle is one of 'us', offers fabulous customer service, and will spend the time to help you find what you need. The exchange rate is favorable to just about every country in the world as well.

If money was no object? I'd hit Ian at Jean Gaborit with a wishlist. Their quality is on par with the high fashion designers, and they are one of the few who offer custom fitting.

Now before other vendors begin to angrily post in the Comments...I know Bob and Angie, Michelle, and Ian via DJ and other bootlovers - they're good people and have been 'around' for years. I feel safe sending them my money. Other vendors may be 'awesome' - but until I deal with them myself, or hear from others who have...I'll recommend the safest options.

(Note: I've learned that Typepad has a 'cut-off' point for posts! Another post to follow momentarily!)

Adding a new catagory: Ask Teri

Terigreendressmain

As I mentioned in a post last week, there's really nothing going on in the boot world right now. The Paris runways were pretty much a bust for us, and it's too hot for celebutards to be snorting off of their patent and tripping over themselves on the filthy sidewalks of West L.A. in front of the paparazzi.

Yes, gloveguys - if you could stop doing the dance of joy for a moment - I know. Really - stop emailing me links that I bookmarked last week - I know already. I promise to do a round-up Paris F/W 2007 post soon. Have you found the new Prada glove promos that just hit the web today? No? Well you have something to do now, don't you? Hint: start at the LiveJournal fashion groups.

So (sighing)...what to do.

(((mental lightbulb)))

It's no secret among Bootlovers.com regulars: I loathe email. Almost as much as I dislike telephones. Let's just say I am a hard Lady to reach, and prefer it that way. I like my own company too much.

It's nothing personal. Really, it isn't. Being an avowed introvert (read: a weird chick who works in her pajamas and posts on Battlestar Galactica fansites) probably makes me the Worst. Spokesperson. Ever. But I do love boots (and gloves), and tend to reach deadlines - this is why DJ and the majority of Bootlovers.com members tolerate me most of the time

There's a handful of psychotics and/or obsessives out there who try to ruin it for everyone else, but it can't be any worse than what the average fetish site receives.

Actually...no...scratch that. Change it to 'what the average female owned and operated fetish blog receives.' Because that makes a HUGE difference. I don't think the boys at fetishgirl/babe/martian dot com have to read the batshit insane manifestos and rather sad promises of devotion us fetish webmistresses scroll through on a daily basis. But, really, what can we do? We can't let the nutters screw it up for the rest of you.

My problem is that I can't keep up! Even if I set the alarm, put the kettle on, and sat down prim and proper in front of this machine every day at 9 am...by 9:03 I'd be checking out the fashion blogs. I'm an unmedicated A.D.D. poster child. And I never get to sleep before dawn anyway.

But one of the things I've noticed when it comes to email...I'm answering the same questions over and over again. "Where do you buy your boots? (more specific: Where did you buy the **** pair of boots?), or "I want to buy my wife/girlfriend/mistress a pair of boots - where should I go?"

Don't even get me started on the, "I want to meet a woman who loves boots - where are they?" emails.

Because you ALL know there's this super-secret fabulous penthouse club that us boot-girls hang out at - George and Brad (Angelina sends him - wonderful open-relationship those two have) stop by on Wednesdays to polish us up and serve the martinis. Clive and Daniel are just begging for memberships - they both get a kick out of the whole Bond thing!  We were thinking - actually, it was Monica's idea - of doing a bench-pressing contest. Giselle and I are arguing about who gets to be the 'weight', but rumour has it that Scarlett and Jessica are submitting their own proposal!

Your invite must have been lost in the mail.

It's like some guys believe there is this big conspiracy to keep the boot-loving men of the world out - because, really, why would a boot-loving woman want a sincere boot-loving man to be interested in her? Perish the thought!

(((rolling eyes)))

So starting, well...since I'm up it may as well be today - the blog will have an 'Ask Teri' section. It's a way to (hopefully) cut down on the repetitive questions I receive via email, and expose a little of the 'behind the scenes' material. No full names - and certainly no email addresses - will be posted to protect privacy. Even for those who do not deserve the consideration.
