You know that 'iconic' boot image that has appeared on a ka-zillion boot fanboards and posters of Julia Roberts for Pretty Woman?

Well...REALITY CHECK! From the neck down, that's not Ms. Roberts - it never was. The powers that be in Hollywood took a realistic look at Julia, promptly panicked, and started to make discrete phone calls. Julia was (is) like the majority of Hollywood starlets - an anorexic stick of a woman. The producers needed a 'body double' to FILL those thigh-high boots....

And that's why the name 'Shelley Michelle' may sound familiar to you. She's Hollywood's body double. Those size 00 starlets may look great, stumbling into the newest nightclub, but they can't sell a film on a poster or dance in a film. That's where Shelley comes in.

She's the BODY that makes women like Julia look good to the movie going public. The majority of film fans have NO IDEA - they are naive enough to believe that those perfect breasts and legs actually belong to the actress above the title.

We've known Shelley since, like...forever. She's a total boot-loving kinkster. She travels a lot so it was insanely difficult to finally hook-up!

Lucy Lawless - Boots and Gloves!

So while spending the past 10 days in bed, whacked on Sudafed and drugs ending in 'dine' - mentally debating if I have the courage to perform self-surgery on my sinuses - I turn to the most comforting thing I have in my life: My Battlestar Galactica DVD collection.

I've never been the teddy bear type, and I would NEVER risk bacterial infection of my glove collection. So I make do. Friends come and go - a DVD collection is forever.

I was never 'into' the Xena series, but as a fetishist - especially one with happy prouddyke friends - I was aware of Lucy Lawless. She's utterly charming in interviews, and always embraced her sci-fi lesbian and kink-friendly fandom. That's awesome of her to do so (how many actors do that? on Leno?).

Then she signed as a semi-regular on Battlestar Galactica, as the...'determined' (and currently boxed) cylon number 3 D'Anna. Sadly, her character does not wear boots, but she still looks 6'17" and is gorgeous in all white. And she's coming back this season.

Also, Lucy sings. I don't watch the dancing/singing reality shows, but she enjoys them. This clip is Lucy and several hobbits men singing with her.

What 'inspired' this post...I went to YouTube in the hope of finding a copy of a Battlestar fan interview she gave last week. While wearing leather elbow length gloves! It's up on Hulu but it will not let me embed it. So if you want to see Lucy in the gloves, click HERE for the interview!

Do you know what I've noticed recently? The older the female popstar, the more frantic the edits are in their videos. Like the camera does not rest on their faces for more than a second or two.

It's annoying as hell when one is trying to see if they are wearing boots, or just legwarmers.

Madge has a new video coming out, and yes she wears boots in it. I would post the video NOW if Warner Bros. didn't keep pulling it from YouTube as soon as someone uploads it. And I've already written the text that will go along with it. Assume that will come later in the week.

For now, a talented YouTuber has beaten the Warner Bros. embargo by mixing the Madonna track with the latest Janet Jackson single. And both ladies are wearing boots! Awesome! Enjoy!
